Recently spent five nights at the Lysander whilst watching Yorkshire play cricket at Scarborough.
Loved the attention to detail that is so important to guests - rooms immaculate, lovely soft towels,good quality pillows,fantastic breakfasts, caring staff, nothing any trouble.
I wish Andy,Julie and their staff every best wish for the future, they certainly deserve all the accolades that come their way, there is a lot of hard work and thought goes into keeping the hotel to the consistant standard that they are all achieving.
One day my colleague left his carton of drink on the bathroom windowsill by mistake, forgetting to take it to the cricket. On arrival back later that evening the carton was sitting in cold water in the sink - priceless!
I would have no hesitation in recommending the Lysander Hotel to any of my friends and family, aswell as any cricket fans who may wish to stay in Scarborough.

Just arrived home after a four day break at the LYSANDER HOTEL and I have to say what a lovely clean,friendly hotel this is.The staff are so friendly and helpful,and the breakfast catered for all tastes.Well worth a visit.:-
We have just completed a short break at the Lysander and had a wonderful stay.Service was perfect and not intrusive, food excellent and cleanliness could not be faulted.Will be recommending without reserve.

We are really pleased about finding this wonderful hotel.The accomodation is excellent and spotlessly clean.Decorated throughout to the highest standard. What made it the best for us was the friendliness of Andy & Julie who made it clear that nothing was too much trouble for them.The choice of breakfasts far exceeded our expectations and was only beaten by the service of the wonderful staff. We will certainly be returning.
We are a couple in our fourties looking to take my seventy something mother away for a couple of days.We were undecided as to wether to go for one of the bigger hotels,or to maybe find something a bit smaller and homely.
We found the Lysander through bookings.com and,having read the reviews,decided to book into the hotel.
We arrived on a lovely warm sunny day-and it struck us straight away how well the outside of the hotel looked-clean and extremely tidy,lovely well kept gardens etc.
We were then greeted by Andy,who immediately came across as a very warm,genuine person,with a cracking sense of humour!!He proceeded to show us to our rooms,which were,as in fitting with the rest of the hotel,immaculately clean and with a very good standard of comfort and decor.
Later in the afternoon we met Julie for the first time,and again found a lady who was as warm and genuine as her husband,and maybe with an even better sense of humour than Andy!!!
Throughout our stay nothing was too much trouble for Andy and Julie-through recommending places to eat/visit,to arranging taxi's etc-everything was done with a smile and a bit of fun!!!
The breakfast at the Lysander was excellent too-fantastic service and food-again,nothing was a problem to the very happy,helpful staff.
And at the end of the day it was lovely to chillout in the very comfy,cosy lounge with a pint of tetleys(source of many a laugh eh Julie!!)and enjoy the crack!!
All in all we had a fantastic couple of days in what can only be described as a special hotel.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone from the room cleaning staff to the waitresses and of course Andy and Julie for making our stay such a memorable one.
We were genuinely made to feel that we had arrived as strangers,but left as friends.
If youre looking for a place to stay in Scarborough,then look no further-you WILL NOT be dissapointed!!!!!

Stayed just one night during a golfing break, made to feel most welcome by both Andy and Julie, room was spotless,the breakfast was one of the best I have had in any hotel, nothing seemed too much trouble.
We had a very enjoyable stay in the Lysander and Andy and Julie went out of their way to ensure we were completely satisfied and comfortable. Our room was newly refurbished as was the ensuite bathroom and they were both very clean.Breakfast was delicious and the service brilliant.You really could't fault this hotel if you tried! Thanks for a lovely time Andy and Julie!
